Welcome · HeartMath® Microlearning

Welcome. You're about to learn something you’ll use today.

Your organization set this course up for you. Over six short sessions you'll learn evidence-based skills for transforming stress into resilience — techniques that work in the middle of a shift, not after it. All you need is the enrollment key your employer gave you.

105 minutes total | 6 sessions · 10–20 min each | Go at your own pace | 2 CE credits for nursing

Don't have a key yet? It comes from your employer — check with whoever told you about the course, or ask us to reach out to your organization.

What to expect

Built for the way your day actually runs.

Most training asks for time you don't have. This is designed around micro moments — handwashing, changing PPE, huddles, rounding, the walk between rooms.

Every session comes with a downloadable audio tool you can use on a break or on the move — so the skill leaves the screen and lands in your shift.

Written for every role

Whether you're in environmental services, nursing, medicine, administration, or leadership — these skills work the same way, wherever you sit.

What you’ll learn

You’ll walk away with:

  • Heart-based skills they can use in the middle of a demanding environment — during handwashing, PPE changes, huddles, team meetings, and patient rounding.
  • Self and situational awareness — recognizing the effect emotions have on physiology and performance.
  • Better preparation for challenges, faster recovery from setbacks, and the ability to hold a steadier state through a hard shift.
  • The science of relational energetics, and step-by-step methods shown to improve communication and teamwork.
  • How to apply these skills with HRV biofeedback in real time, for staff who have access to the technology.
  • The science of why these skills measurably reduce stress and build resilience, and what that means for clarity, health, and quality of life.
  • How to identify energy drains and turn them into gains, renewing themselves on the move.
  • Improved decision-making, with access to practical intuition on the go.
  • The distinction between balanced care and overcare — and skills to prevent compassion fatigue and burnout.
  • A practical way to help build a heart-based culture on their unit and across the organization.

The research behind this training

These skills come out of 35+ years of research at the HeartMath Institute — an independent nonprofit studying the intersection of emotion, heart rhythm, and the nervous system since 1991. HeartMath's definition of resilience — the capacity to prepare for, recover from, and adapt in the face of challenge, adversity, and stress — was adopted by the US Navy and has been integrated into healthcare systems around the world. 80+ peer-reviewed studies · 12,000+ certified practitioners worldwide

These techniques take mere moments and can change the trajectory of an entire shift. Our heart is our life source, and in every sense, the very beating of it propels us forward to live our purpose — to connect, commit, and continue to love and honorthose we serve and ourselves.

These tools can be applied in my work and personal life. I’ve already felt a decrease in stress and an overall better mood from doing the techniques. It’s a very helpful and important program. Thank you!

I am blessed to have HeartMath and the knowledge and tools of how our heart can heal ourselves and those around us. I’ve had hypertension for 9 years and was on up to two hypertension medications. Over time, I lowered my hypertension with diet and exercise… and with the addition of practicing HeartMath tools, I no longer needed to take my hypertension medication… it has resolved. Hallelujah!
